While I am sure it was anticipated by many, I will, unfortunately, not be making Inktober-inspired commissions this year. While I was planning to do so if last year's artist was still available, she was sadly busy. Being unsure if this year's would be as good, I would rather put the budget into something I can be sure will be excellent. I greatly apologize if people are disappointed by this decision, and I am very invested in doing an Inktober again in 2024 even if I have to find a new artist.
This will not mean the end of regular commissions, of course, nor does it rule out some manner of special Halloween-based commission.
I would like to announce that I will, like previous years, be participating in Inktober 2022. As the art will again be commissioned, it should not be considered official participation in any way, and simply done "for fun" in the spirit of the event. A lot of my commissions are fanart, not merely for popularity's sake but because artists are thinking of more cool character and creature designs than ever before, but Inktober is a nice excuse to depict a large number of wholly original ideas.
Like the previous Inktobers, roughly half of the prompts will be made into artwork because of both cost and time constraints. There will almost definitely be large stretches of time in which there is no art, and others in which one will be posted daily. Specific days will not be mentioned ahead of time, although the exception is that I will always try to make the Halloween prompt, one of my favorite days of the year for obvious reasons.
